Data is all around us. It sets what you pay for energy, moves the markets your savings sit in, tracks how fast a disease spreads and shows whether the laws around you protect your freedom. We build and test the models that make sense of it, so you can understand how it affects your life and plan for what comes next.
Most people never place a trade. Financial markets still decide what their savings earn, what their loans cost and what the things they buy from abroad are worth.
Much of the world's spare cash sits in them overnight. Their yields follow central bank rates and set what your savings and pension cash earn.
They set the cost of a mortgage, a business loan or a car lease, and they move every time markets change their view on inflation.
Bond yields decide how much a country pays to borrow, and so how much is left for schools, hospitals and roads.
A stronger or weaker franc changes the price of food, fuel and holidays, and the value of anything you hold abroad.
What holds up in markets carries into other fields, where better forecasts can mean lower costs, less waste and policies that do what they promise. We work there together with the people who own the problem.
